Moken Church Registration

The church full of Moken children and visitors for the Christmas service

In August 2026 Philip announced that the Moken church is being officially registered as a church in Thailand — a milestone for a congregation that grew from the first Moken worship gatherings on the island.

The building itself was given new life earlier in the year. In January 2026 friends from the island of Kauai came to Koh Phayam and replaced the church roof and repainted the whole building.

The registration is still in process. To support the church, tell us you'd like to help through the support page, mention the reference Algemeen, and we'll reply personally with the details.

The empty church interior after repainting: light-blue walls with two white tile crosses, arched windows, a tiled floor and timber roof trusses, with ladders still standing
