Living Full-Time on Koh Phayam

From early 2012 Philip lived permanently on Koh Phayam, off-grid (charging a phone off a generator). He became guardian to a group of Moken boys — three, then four — whose parents fished at sea for long stretches, telling them a Bible story each night and teaching them to pray. He attended the Thai school daily, first as a student of Thai then drafted in to teach.
This is the start of the original boys cohort — Khay Dam (later called Wood, and now Wud), Tine/Tiny, Oden and others — a distinct group from the later five-boy "Moken Guardians" program. The original boys are now young adults.
