April 2011 nearly broke Philip physically — dengue fever put him in a 60-bed Thai ward as his platelet count fell. Out of that weakness came the pivot that defines his voice: at a "Father's Heart — Going Deeper" seminar in Penang, Philip experienced God not as a distant Almighty but as "Pappa" (Daddy). From mid-2011 on he signs his letters "In Pappa." It reframes the mission as relational rather than transactional — the lens for everything that follows.
