The First Moken Worship

Through the first half of 2011 Philip wrestled with how church should look among the Moken. The breakthrough was to refuse to impose a foreign form: God loves the Moken as they are, delights in their own music and language, and the decision of how to worship was handed back to them. By the Sept/Oct 2011 letter a small Moken church is meeting, with Philip preaching in halting biblical Thai, healings reported, and an elderly woman (Ma Ching) dreaming of two men asking why she hadn't come to the Lord sooner. This indigenous, slow-growing church is a thread that runs the length of the whole story.
