A Whole Group Goes Down Into the Water

In May 2024 a group of Thai outsiders pressed the Moken to resume ancestral-spirit worship "because it is part of Moken culture," setting a date. When it came, only three people from one family attended — the rest said they now had "a King and a Father in heaven" and were done with the old ways. Out of that, a large group of Moken adults asked to be baptised, publicly declaring they belong to God. After thirteen years, the slow indigenous church reaches a visible, communal milestone — arguably the spiritual high point of the whole arc.
